APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • This gives FS39 or FS35 using COBOL for AIX 4.1.1.n.
No problem with version v2 or v3.
SELECT OUT-FILE ASSIGN TO SIMPLEOUT
  ORGANIZATION IS LINE SEQUENTIAL.
OPEN OUTPUT OUT-FILE.
Now use this environment variable-
$ export SIMPLEOUT=/dev/null
$ a.out
IWZ200S  Error detected during OPEN ...

Local fix

  • Use a local file.
$ export SIMPLEOUT=junk
