Error description
A NetView/FTP SNA server went into loop when attempted to transfer a PDS dataset. The loop occurred in module DVGMSPO around offset 2da4 - 2dea. This happened when a member of the PDS dataset contained a wrong record. The dataset was RECFM=VBM and there was a record which Length field in the RDW was zero. When attempted to print the contents of the member by using AMS PRINT, IEF036I 002-04 error was issued. The RC=4 indicated "The RDW specifies a length less than 4." The trigger of the loop was a wrong dataset but the server should avoid such a loop.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: all users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Whenever a PDS member has RDW=0 it * * causes a neverending loop. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY THE PTF FIXING THIS APAR * **************************************************************** RDW=0 is not allowed, but it could be due to a file corruption. In this case we must avoid the neverending loop.
