Running the environment generation wizard from the web UI
fails when both the Rational Automation Framework Framework
Server and target WebSphere Application Server instance are
running on the same system running Microsoft Windows.

Problem conclusion

  • Running the Rational Automation Framework Framework Server
and a managed WebSphere Application Server instance on the
same Windows system is not a likely production environment
and, to this point, exclusively seen in demo environments
(everything installed on one laptop scenario). The fix for
this will require a substantial refactoring of our code base
and is not likely to be made in the v3.0.0.x stream. There
    are two known work arounds:

    (1) Run the environment generation wizard on the command
    line
    (2) Use Linux for the demo environment
