Error description

  • The create PLAN_TABLE option enables us to create plan tables
    for DB2 V9.

    However FM incorrectly created 3 column definitions which are
    not in V9.1 format.

    1. APPLNAME     - char(8)     should be varchar(24)
    2. GROUP_MEMBER - char(8)     should be varchar(24)
    3. VERSION      - varchar(64) should be varchar(122)

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The File Manager DB2 component Explain *
    *                      utilities generates a PLAN_TABLE with   *
    *                      incorrect definitions for DB2 versions  *

    *                      DSN_STATEMNT_TABLE definitions          *
    *                      generated for DB2 versions 9 and 10.    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    The data type for the "APPLNAME", "VERSION" and "GROUP_MEMBER"
    columns were changed at DB2 version 9 - these changes are not
    included when the EXPLAIN utility creates a PLAN_TABLE,
    DSN_FUNCTION_TABLE and DSN_STATEMNT_TABLE.

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager DB2 component has been changed to generate the
    correct PLAN_TABLE, DSN_FUNCTION_TABLE and DSN_STATEMNT_TABLE,
    depending on the version of DB2.
