Error description

  • When running a FM/IMS extract (BMP mode), receive the
following message when trying to extract data from a
MSDB -

 FMNIA015 IMS read failed.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: FM/IMS users extracting data from MSDBs.     *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message FMNIA015 'An attempt to read an *
*                      IMS segment has failed. The function    *
*                      has been terminated.' issued when you   *
*                      attempt to extract data from an MSDB.   *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
The FM/IMS Extract issues GNP calls to retrieve child segments.
However MSDBs do not have child segments and if you issue a GNP
call against an MSDB, IMS returns a status code of AD.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • FM/IMS has been modified to correct this problem.
