APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • ABEND0D5 RC00000021 followed by ABEND5C4 RC082C0019 from
DSNVSRBW after EOM of the MQ application that used RRS.
.
The task from the EOM address space may hang in RRS exit.
ABEND30D for EOM is also possible.
.
MASTER TASK in ASID(x'0001') would loop in DSN3SSI2 waiting for
EOM address space to go away.

Local fix

  • Prevent EOM from happening.

Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An ABEND0D5 RC00000021 followed by an   *
*                      ABEND5C4 RC082C0019 from DSNVSRBW may   *
*                      occur after EOM of a MQSeries           *
*                      application that is using z/OS RRS and  *
*                      DB2.                                    *
*                      The task from the MQSeries address      *
*                      space that has gone to EOM may hang     *
*                      in the RRS exit.                        *
*                      An ABEND30D for the hanging EOM may     *
*                      also occur.                             *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

An ABEND0D5 RC00000021 and an ABEND5C4 RC082C0019 from an
RRS exit may occur if a MQSeries address space has gone to
EOM when the RRS exit is processing.

Problem conclusion

  • Modules DSN3RRSM and DSN3RRSF have been updated with additional
application EOM checking.
