Error description

  • ERROR DESCRIPTION:
    You collect CICS IA dependency data and when you query the
    collected data or run the batch reporter job, you find that the
    WRITE JOURNALNAME journal resource is truncated after the first
    4 characters and that WRITE JOURNALNUM only reports the 2 digit
    suffix but not the 4 character prefix DFHJ. For example, a
    WRITE JOURNALNAME JRNLABCD would only collect the the first 4
    positions "JRNL" and truncate the last 4 trailing bytes "ABCD".
    For WRITE JOURNALNUM 07 the collected journal name should be
    collected with prefix "DFHJ" for "DFHJ07".

    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVWJB log journal
    CIUJCLRP reporter

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Journal name length used by *
    * interdependency collector is four *
    * bytes, instead of eight bytes, used *
    *                      by CICS command.                        *
    * The resource name for journal number *
    * CICS commands need be prefixed by *
    *                      DFHJ prefix.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF.                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    When a customer uses length of the journal name more than four
    bytes, the customer obtains the resource name truncated to four
    bytes in the the output from the Dependency Reporter.
    A customer used the old form of journal requests JOURNALNUM
    Obtains the resource name as tow digital number.

Problem conclusion

  • The table GRP_14 in module CIUXCCOD contains an incorrect third
    member in the second string for command codes: XL2'1406' and
    XL2'1408'. Them contain AL4(0) instead of AL4(GT_LONG).
    There is off-design to use prefix before number for command
    codes: '1402'X,'1404'X in the module CIUXCCOG.
