Error description
ClearQuest is not parsing some characters (e.g. Vertical Tab-VT) into valid XML. The client is using a Web server on Solaris but I can reproduce on Windows. This was found by a user who was using OSLC to pull information from ClearQuest. The record in ClearQuest has a Vertical Tab (VT) character (Decimal char 11) in it. It was pasted in from a powerpoint document. We found that Powerpoint uses the VT character when Shift-Enter is used to break a line. When the record is retrieved by OSLC, the XML returned (?#11;) was not considered valid by the Java module routines that were being used. This error displayed: [Fatal Error] :182:60: Character reference '?#11' is an invalid XML character. org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference '?#11' is an invalid XML character. Using the URI directly in Firefox displayed the records before the errant record but did not display the errant record or the ones after it. The same URI in Internet Explorer v9 did not display any records and displayed an error that 'the feed contains code errors.'
