Error description

  • Error DescriptionÏ
Using a large, spanned, extended addressing, multi-volume ESDS
data set, which a transaction is consistently writing records
throughout the day.  When a user attempts to view the record of
the file via FM/CICS, they are not able to browse the entire
file, when the user uses "M" PF8 to max down to the end of the
file.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. In FM/CICS when viewing an extended  *
*                      ESDS data set the last records in the   *
*                      data set may not be shown.              *
*                      2. When viewing an extended ESDS CICS   *
*                      file using File Manager under ISPF the  *
*                      message 'Error accessing CICS resource  *
*                      func=STARTBR Cond=ILLOGIC Resp2=110'    *
*                      may be displayed.                       *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
1. FM/CICS is clearing the highorder word of the extended ESDS
data set RBA.
2. File Manager under ISPF is not establishing the attributes
of the CICS file correctly.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. In FM/CICS all records will be shown when viewing an extended
ESDS data set.
2. File Manager under ISPF will process an extended CICS file
correctly.
