APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Client enters FM 3.5 and enters a 'V' on the command line,
double asterisks in the DSN field and a mask (e.g. D$US0*)
in the VOLSER field.

Panel FMNPVSEL is then displayed with matching VOLSERs.  They
then overtype the mask value with a new mask (e.g. D$US1*) and
press enter.  Instead of displaying the new list of matching
VOLSERs, the original list is displayed.

Local fix

  • Press F3 and then enter to refresh the display with the correct
(changed) VOLSERs.

*                      the Volume/Summary Selection panel of   *
*                      the VTOC Service utility (option 3.5)   *
*                      the panel is redisplayed with the same  *
*                      information and the VOLSER filter has   *
*                      reverted back to the value it was       *
*                      before being changed.                   *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

The VOLSER filter field is being restored.

Problem conclusion

  • The correct information will be displayed when the VOLSER filter
is changed on the Volume/Summary Selection panel.
