PM61118: LICENSE CODES WITH MULTIPLE MODULES BUT NO "CORE" OPTION ONLY LICENSE THE LOWEST-NUMBERED MODULE IN IBM SPSS STATISTICS

You are using IBM SPSS Statistics with a network (concurrent use) or site license, and have purchased varying numbers of users for Statistics Base and various modules. You've created separate license code strings, bundling the extra modules together -- for example one license code string for Statistics Core/Base, and another with just module options "3" and "10" -- "3" being Advanced Statistics and "10" being Custom Tables. When you launch Statistics and run the syntax command "SHOW LICENSE" however, Custom Tables is not present, nor is it available in the menus.
When module licenses are bundled together in a license code string with no "0" feature code present, only the lowest feature code is recognized. So a license that contains the "0" option will several other modules will license them all. But the license code string in this example that contains just the "3" and "10" options will only license the "3" option -- "10" will not be picked up. The workaround is to be sure to either bundle all modules together with the Core option "0" -- which is only possible if you have the same number of users for each module as you do for Core -- or create one individual license code string for each module separately. This has been reported to IBM SPSS Statistics Development for remediation in a future release.
This issue was addressed by altering the procedures available when the user generates their authorization codes to begin with at the Licensing Key Center. No code changes were made to IBM SPSS Statistics or the Sentinel License Manager, but users may now no longer generate autorization codes that combine individual modules if the Core license is not included. This resolves the problem.
