PM60468: RFIND NOT WORKING FROM FM 5.7 VSAM UPDATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Going into File Manager 5.7 VSAM Update, and doing a Find of a
  character string, the string is found. However, when the RFind
  command is then used, the message <"RFIND   " is not active> is
  issued. By default, F5 is set to <F5=RFind> but hitting F5
  results in the same "not active" message.

  *                      set is respositioned to the record      *

  1. The RFIND command was not defined correctly for the File
  Manager function.
  2. When updating a KSDS data set the saved key is being compared
  with the existing key from the displayed panel using an
  incorrect length.  The keys never match causing the data set to
  always be repositioned.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. The RFIND command definition has been corrected.
  2. A command issued on the VSAM Update panel will not be
  ignored.
