PM59398: INSTALLER BLANKS THE DAEMONHOST LINE IN SPSSPROD.INF

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The installer for Amos 20.0.0.1 blanks the DaemonHost line in
  spssprod.inf forcing the Amos client to broadcast for a license.
  If no SLM with an Amos license to spare exists in the customer's
  subnet, then Amos launches with "No License found" error.
  

Local fix

• This behavior has been remediated in a refresh of the IBM SPSS
  AMOS 20.0 FixPack 1 posted 3/14/2012.  Installing AMOS 20.0
  FixPack 1 will now preserve the DaemonHost value in spssprod.inf
  when applied to a network-licensed installation provided that
  the install is done with full admin rights (XP) or
  right-click->Run As Admin (Vista, 7).  If insufficient rights
  are present, a warning will be displayed on completion of the
  install, and a backup copy of spssprod.inf named
  "spssprod_amos20.0.inf" is saved to the user's My Documents
  folder.  Simply manually copy the backup into the AMOS install
  directory and rename back to "spssprod.inf".
  
  If your installation was
  already affected by the earlier release of the FixPack, please
  edit spssprod.inf and put the hostname/IP address back in the
  DaemonHost line.  Alternatively, define LSHOST environment
  variable to point to the the Sentinel LM.
