APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Plug-in uses a buffer size of 8K to read in the header; and on
    z/OS the HTTP Server expects the data to be in EBCDIC. If the
    header size exceeds 8K, the remaining data is never converted
    into EBCDIC.

    Headers are read in 8KB chunks. Only the first read was being
    converted to ascii for processes so subsequent chunks would be
    corrupted when they were converted back to ebcdic since they
    were never converted to ascii.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The entire header (regardless of size) is now translated into
    ascii so the corruption no longer occurs.
    
    APAR PM56981 is currently targeted for inclusion in
    Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.45 of WebSphere Application
    Server V6.1.
