    This apar fixes the storage overlay in global area(common) -
    caused by PM41778. Possible symptoms are:
    ABEND0C4 PIC3B at DSNTXSTB UK68652 when DB2 is walking through
    GPVT (global chain) to collect IFCID225 data.
    ABEND 04E 00E20008 at DSNSLD1 DSNSVPL +1A50 when the command
    processor tries to free the command work area pool in common.
    Or ABEND04E 00F9000C RC00F9000C in DSN9SCNP seen

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 users of the -DISPLAY DATABASE *
    *                 command.                                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The -DISPLAY DATABASE command could *
    *                      generate ABEND04E RC00F9000C in         *
    *                      DSN9PREP.DSN9SCNP because of            *
    *                      ill-formed multi line message blocks.   *
    * Or a storage overlay, which could *
    * result in one of the following: *
    *                      ABENDS0C4 RC0000003B in DSNTXSTB        *
    *                      ABEND04E RC00E20008 in DSNSLD1          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The -DISPLAY DATABASE command could generate ABEND04E
    RC00F9000C in DSN9PREP.DSN9SCNP because ill-formed multi line
    message blocks could be created when errors occurred during the
    actual issuing of a message but additional actions and messages
    continued to be carried out.

Problem conclusion

  • The -DISPLAY DATABASE command was changed to always end the
    processing and printing of messages when errors occurred during
    the generation of any message.
