    Problem Description:
    Customer tried to install a fix pack using centralized
    installation manager (CIM) on the administrative console and
    received following exception with 500 error while browsing to
    the 'Installation History' panel:

    The above exception should be avoided so that customer can
    successfully view the CIM install history even if they have
    tried to install a package with incorrect format.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

    Sometimes customer manually download interim fix, save it as
    ".zip" extension name, then manually place it into Centralized
    Installation Manager repository. When trying to install this
    interim fix via Centralized Installation Manager, the
    installation fails, hwever the installation record is
    corrupted. Later when try to view the installation
    history, Null Pointer Exception will happen and the page
    cannot be displayed correctly.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Centralized Installation Manager will check and find corrupted
    installation record, and avoid Null Pointer Exception when
    viewing the record in Installation History page.
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.4.  Please refer to the
