PM54627: UNABLE TO START JZOS BATCH LAUNCHER IF THE STDENV SCRIPT CONTAIN S LONG CLASSPATH VALUE AND OUTPUTS STDERR MESSAGES

Error description

• Error Message: When starting the JZOS batch launcher, if the
  STDENV script contains long environment variable values (such as
  a long CLASSPATH value), and the processing of that STDENV
  script results in STDERR messages (such as the LE Options
  Report), then the JZOS batch launcher will fail to start.
  In this case, the STDENV contains a CLASSPATH value with more
  than 3,929 characters, and the LE option _CEE_RUNOPTS=RPTO(ON)
  is set to generate LE Option Report to STDERR. This results in
  JZOS batch launcher unable to start.

Local fix

Problem summary

• When starting the JZOS batch launcher, if the STDENV script
  contains long environment variable values (such as a long
  CLASSPATH value), and the processing of that STDENV script
  results in STDERR messages (such as the LE Options Report), then
  the JZOS batch launcher will fail to start.
  

Problem conclusion

• This defect will be fixed in:
  6.0.1 SR2 (z/OS 31-bit)
  .
  The JZOS batch launcher has been updated so that it will start
  even if the STDENV script contains long environment variable
  values, and the processing of that STDENV script results in
  STDERR messages.
