  • On some LPARs, client receives an SA03 abend trying to run
FM/DB2 in batch mode.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: All users of File Manager DB2 component.     *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABENDSA03 running a File Manager DB2    *
*                      batch job, when the specified DB2 SSID  *
*                      is either:                              *
*                      1.  Not currently active                *
*                      2.  Not defined to the local z/OS       *
*                          system.                             *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
The subtask used to communicate with DB2 is not terminated
prior to the main task ending.

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager DB2 component has been changed to correct the
problem.
