APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the method

    SipServletRequest createRequest(SipSession session,
    SipServletRequest origRequest, Map<String,List<String>>
    headerMap) throws IllegalArgumentException,
    NullPointerException;

    it is possible to provide an origRequest parameter which is
    already linked with another request/session, causing the
    request to persist in memory longer than may be desired, which
    can effectively create a memory leak.

Local fix

  • supply an origRequest parameter which is newly initialized

    The SIP container save references to all linked requests even
    if the application does not have a reference to the request.

Problem conclusion

  • The SIP container is not holding a reference to all linked
    requests. When the application remove the last reference to
    the request the request object is collected.
