Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All File Manager users *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. The File Manager DSP utility uses *
    * more CPU cycles than expected. *
    * 2. When printing a data set using the *
    * DSP utility with the DATAHDR option *
    * selected the record header information *
    * shows only the record length and not *
    * the record number and record length. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    1. When the DATAHDR option is not selected the record header
information is still built for each record.
    2. If the DATAHDR option has been selected the record header
information built for each record is being overwritten with the
    record length header information.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. The performance of the File Manager DSP utility has been
    improved.
    2. The correct record header information will be printed with
each record when the DATAHDR option has been selected.
