    DSNTXAZP is a program that can be used to refresh a DB2 CLIST
    input (DSNTIDxx) member with DB2's current subsystem parameter,
    DSNHDECP parameter, and buffer pool settings.  It does not
    refresh other types of DSNTIDxx entries, such as those for data
    set names, data set devices, z/OS parmlib data, DB2 and IRLM
    address space configuration, and so on; The values for these
    entries are simply copied over from the input DSNTIDxx member.
    
    Currently, the DSNTIDxx output member produced by DSNTXAZP
    contains only the entries provided in the DSNTIDxx input
    member.  DSNTXAZP does not add missing entries nor provide any
    warning of missing entries.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR modifies DSNTXAZP to check for missing entries in the
    inputted DSNTIDxx member and add them to the output (refreshed)
    DSNTIDxx member.
    
    With this change, DSNTXAZP will add all missing entries to the
    output member.
     * If the missing entry is for a DB2 subsystem parameter,
       DSNHDECP parameter, or DB2 buffer pool, it will be added with
       the current DB2 setting.
     * All other types of missing entries (such as those for data
       set names, device types, job cards, and so on) will be added
       with their default value from the DB2 default CLIST member,
       DSNTIDXA.
    Each missing entry added by DSNTXAZP is flagged with a STATUS of
    ADDED in the end-of-job summary report.
