Error description

• After applying PTF UK59244, when running FM/DB2 Export utiltity
  (DBX), output data contains additional double quotes around all
  of the data in a column.

  The problem relates to the FM/DB2 export function, CSV data
  format.  In the situation where the data in a character column
  is already encapsulated in a user-defined character, FM/DB2 may
  add additional enclosing double quotes.  An example is $Fredo,
  from$ - where $ is a user defined encapsulation character
  included because of the imbedded comma - the default CSV
  separator character.  In this situation the addition of
  enclosing double quotes is unnecessary.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR provides an enhancement to FM/DB2 export, CSV data
  format, allowing an "ASIS" encapsulation option.  When this
  option is selected, character data is exported "ASIS", even when
  the data contains, for example, an imbedded separator character,
  or double quote.
