Thus unable to fix the data errors in encyclopedia. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch SA . 2. Open an encyclopedia 3. Navigate to Tools-? Verify Encyclopedia-?Verify and repair and start this activity for the encyclopedia. 4. We find the application crashing during the ?Verify and Repair? activity. Restart SA. 4 Ran Verify and Repair 5. Save the report. 6. Close SA. 7. Restart SA. 8. Repeat steps 4-7 twice.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Verify and Repair on large encyclopedias fails after completing the first pass. The problem is the panel that displays the error/warning messages. If we let V?R run with several passes, the panel will run out of space about a third of the way into the 2nd pass. Unfortunately the panel does not handle the out-of-space gracefully but simply causes a crash. There is no workaround for the panel problem, and so it becomes mandatory to restrict the run to a single pass.
Problem conclusion
We have a problem with SA's access to SQL Server. After each pass, V?R closes the encyclopedia and (in theory) SQL Server is supposed to release all its internal resources. The crash occurred because resources were not released at the end of the pass and SQL Server ran out of resources. The problem appears to be in the low-level database access functions, which means that the fix will be high-risk. Note that the client has a workaround, and it is suggested the issue be conceded.
