APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Running establish path cmd failed with 0FA3 error (DS8K WWNN is
not correct). csmTraceX.log shows for some path establish the
target WWNN is correct:
 > srcWWNN=5766023019868701002:tgtWWNN=5766023019885478959
However, for 5 establish paths the target WWNN has 0 value:
 > srcWWNN=5766023019868701002:tgtWWNN=0
Even though the target is the same DS8K box for both cases. This
is in the error for the failure case:

Local fix

  • Manually establish the path

Problem summary

  • The establish path command failes with 0FA3

Problem conclusion

  • The path is being established twice. The first time it is
successful but fails the second time. The newest message is
displayed, therefor the failure is kept. The fix is to check to
make sure no successful establish command occurred previously.
