Error description

  • The DataSourceCfgHelper.reload() function is described as
"Reloads resources.xml".  This description could use more detail
describing the limitations of what can and cannot be loaded
without a server recycle.

Mainly that the reload function only loads in newly defined
resources and cannot be used to modify existing resources.

The documentation of the DataSourceCfgHelper.reload() api was
found to be incomplete and had been updated with the following:

Reloads the resources.xml. This function may be called to bind
a new data source after server start.  It does not impact
existing data sources.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The documentation has been updated in the appropriate xml files.

APAR PM46033 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.19 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
