    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS hangs during a normal shutdown if *
    * there are closed sockets that have not *
    * been removed from an ECI TCPIPSERVICE. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Hang in CICS shutdown due to DFHSODM being in an indefinite
    wait on resource SODOMAIN SO_LTEPTY.

The reason is that TCP/IP has returned errno 1,112 (1112)
EOPNOTSUPP to an ECI request, DFHIEIE error recovery has treated
that as a severe error and has not removed the socket request
from the TCPIPSERVICE even though the socket has been closed.

If the TCPIPSERVICE is manually closed using IMMCLOSE, CICS will
    shutdown normally.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSOCK has been changed to treat errno 1,112 EOPNOTSUPP the
same way as errno 1,121 ECONNRESET for SEND and RECEIVE
requests. That is, as if the client has closed the connection.
The socket will be closed and DFHIEIE will remove the socket
    from the TCPIPSERVICE.
