APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the Adminitrative Agent with a registered DMZ
    secure proxy, the permissions are being reset.
    
    When changing the "start-up permissions" to "run as an
    unprivilidged user" after entering the name of the user and
    group that the proxy should run under, as soon as you apply and
    press OK the user and group get reset to nobady / nobody.

    *                  Server V7.0 and V8.0 using the Admin Agent  *
    *                  to configure the Secure Proxy Server        *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Admin Agent does not save the           *
    *                      specified Start-up permissions User     *
    *                      name and User group id's on the Proxy   *
    *                      Security Settings page.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The Proxy code was incorrectly retrieving the saved Start-up
    permissions User name and User group values that were passed
    in from the Admin Agent.  This causes the values specified on
    the Admin Agent panels to be lost.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Proxy code was changed to correctly retrieve the sepcified
    values so they will be permanately saved.
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.21 and 8.0.0.2.  Please refer to the
    Recommended Updates page for delivery information:
