Error description
User is using the WebSphere MQ function of File Manager to view or update messages in MQSeries queues. When doing so, they are not able to access messages on queue names that are mixed case. When they list the queues, File Manager shows the queue name in mixed case, however when they select the queue, the name is switched to upper case and File Manager gets an open error because the upper case name doesn't exist.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: File Manager Websphere MQ * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When selecting a queue that has a mixed * * case name, message FMNBC307 "Open Queue * * failed" is generated. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. * **************************************************************** File Manager field processing was not allowing for input fields used to specify the queue name, to contain mixed case. This results in an incorrect name being passed on and rejected, or an incorrect queue (i.e. an all uppercase queue of the same name) to be selected.
Problem conclusion
File Manager has been updated in order to correctly process queue names containing mixed case as per the MQ object naming standards. When directly specifying a queue name to a File Manager utility, to specify that the mixed case usage is intentional, the queue identification must be enclosed in quote marks. E.g. To copy from a mixed case queue name one would enter in the data set name field: 'MQ:MQ72:MixedCaseQueueName' or when using keywords in batch: $$FILEM DSC DSNIN='MQ:MQ72:MixedCaseQueueName'
