Error description

  • Classloader memory leak in Naming CacheManager in the servant
    region. Leak occurs if applications are started and stopped many
    times such as in a stress test.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Slow memory leak of JNDI caches on the z/OS platform when
    applications are started and stopped repeatedly. The leak
    might show up as a classloader leak because JNDI caches are
    linked to application classloaders.

Problem conclusion

  • The memory leak occurred because JNDI caches associated with
    a stopped application were not removed. JNDI caches
    associated with an application are removed when the
    application is stopped.

    APAR PM43071 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.43 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1.
