PM40369: GETTING SHORT ON STORAGE MESSAGE REPEATING A FIND COMMAND IN FM VIEW/EDIT.

APAR status

Error description

• While viewing a file, user enters a FIND command and receives a
  msg:
         'virtual storage full, records limited to 6462.
  
  when using an options value for editor storage.
  
  
  The options value can be found in FM 0.6 at the end of the first
  panel.
  
  e.g.   Maximum virtual storage allowed for Edit and View  ___
  

Local fix

• Set the storage allowed value to zero.
  

Problem summary

  File Managers internal editor storage management had a fault
  where the mechanism for releasing of editor storage for reuse
  was being incorrectly deactivated.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager has been updated in order to trigger the reuse of
  editor related virtual storage, allowing commands to run to
  completion for large (larger than available region) files as
  intended.
