The ABEND04E RC00E70005 DSNXGRDS.DSNXEFDA:M500 occurred
during an insert into an XML column from a subselect.
The insert failed because of a unique key violation on
an XML index.  But, the error reason code was not
propagated correctly for the unique key violation,
causing the ABEND04E RC00E70005 DSNXGRDS.DSNXEFDA:M500
to occur.  Instead of the abend, SQLCODE803 should have
been issued.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 was fixed to correctly propagate the error reason code for
the unique key violation on the XML index.
