Error description
The following message is seen in the SystemOut.log after application deployment and the merged deployment descriptor is missing information for the indicated interceptor. ********************************** [4/11/11 16:23:47:096 EDT] 0000002b annotations E BaseLifecycleMergeAction mergeMethodTarget Could not locate Stateful Session Bean in Deployment Descriptor with ejbClassName [ de.hdi.arbeitsmanagement.zugriff.journaleintrag.JournaleintragVe rwaltung SynchronErrorhandlingInterceptor *************************************

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server 7.0 with EJB 3.0 modules deployed. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During application deployment, the * * error message * * "BaseLifecycleMergeAction * * mergeMethodTarget Could not locate * * Stateful Session Bean in Deployment * * Descriptor..." displays. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This error can occur when processing the interceptor annotation "@AroundInvoke". That processing tries to match the annotation to a corresponding "@Interceptors" annotation. In this case, the method that the "@Interceptors" annotation applied to was not identified as a business method, so the match process failed. The logic to determine "business" methods is incorrect and returns a false determination when the method being evaluated implements a business method from an interface. In the case where there is no "@Interceptors" annotation referring to the interceptor class, the message is validly displayed but should only be an Information message as this is not an error condition. Other errors exposed by this problem are missing or incomplete <interceptor> elements in the deployment descriptor after annotations have been processed.
Problem conclusion
The logic to determine a "business" method has been changed to correctly identify an implementing method as a business interface and the resulting message has been changed to Informational. The process to merge interceptor annotations was updated to correctly merge interceptor information in the deployment descriptor The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.21.
