PM37513: CEDA INSTALL PIPELINE ABENDS AALX. DFHPI0001 0C4/AKEA HAS OCCURRED AT OFFSET X'03F2' IN MODULE DFHPIPL.

APAR status

• Closed as duplicate of another APAR.

Error description

• You CEDA install a change to the requestor Pipeline
  after modifying your config file and appears to
  install properly. You then discard the pipeline
  and CEDA install the pipleline a second time which
  results in abend AALX.
  
  You have changed the config file Transport section
  with both the begin and end tags for the handler parameter
  list without parameters. For example:
  
  <handler>
   <program>PGMHAND1</program>
            <handler_parameter_list>
            </handler_parameter_list>
  </handler>
  
  
  The initial CEDA install appears to work, but corrupts
  storage. DFHPIPIH control block gets overlayed with XML data.
  
  The second attempt to CEDA install fails with messages :
  
  DFHPI0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset
            X'03F2'in module DFHPIPL.
  DFHAC2236 Transaction CEDA abend AALX in program DFHAMP term
            tttt.Updates to local recoverable resources will be
            backed out.
  DFHSM0002 CICSTEST A severe error (code X'0317') has
            occurred in module DFHSMGF.
  
  Program DFHPIPL has incorrectly calculated a negative length
  of data in field PITN_TNDATA_N ( the length of data between the
  <handler_parameter_list> </handler_parameter_list> tags ).
  You may see the length as FFFFFFF3.
  
  Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVSWM
  You may also see "Being disable" for CEMT disable Pipeline or
  "Being enabled" for CEMT enable Pipeline.
  

Local fix

• Replace begin and end tags with a null element tag.
  For example;
  replace
  <handler_parameter_list>
  </handler_parameter_list>
  with
  <handler_parameter_list />
