Error description
Developers are unable to obtain an RSA license through a proxy from the license server located in another domain
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** RSA 7.x Clients are unable to talk to the License Server when hte Client machine is configured to use a HTTP Proxy Server for communication. The root cause is the use of Java Clinet libraries of FLEX by RSA. The FLEX Java does not support HTTP Proxy Server communication.
Problem conclusion
Once the RSA Clients start using 8.1.1.x RCL Java Client libraries, the issue will no longer exist. The RCL Java Client Libraries use native RCL C Client Libraries for Licensiing operations. RCL C clients talk to the RLKS 8.1.x using TCP/IP protocol. They will ignore HTTP Proxy settings and hence will be able to contact the server successfully.
