  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  1. The ABEND04E RC00E70005 DSNNXML.DSNNOEXP:M720 occurred
     when an XML column, that was flagged as invalid by the
     CHECK DATA utility, was updated.  For the problem to
     occur, the XML column being updated needs to support
     XML versions.  The abend occurred because as part of the
     update, a row to be logically deleted was not found.
     Because the XML column was flagged as invalid, this
     condition should have been tolerated instead of resulting
     in an abend.
  
  2. The ABEND04E RC00C90101 DSNIDM.DSNIDILS ERQUAL5016 and
     the ABEND04E RC00C90101 DSNIDM.DSNIDIFS ERQUAL5007
     occurred after an UPDATE or DELETE occurred on an
     XML column that supports XML versions. The abends
     occurred when deleting a row for a version of an XML
     document that was no longer needed.  The problem occurred
     because the same row was being deleted on another
     Data Sharing member.  This problem can only occur in
     Data Sharing.
  
  3. ABEND04E RC00E70005 DSNXGRDS.DSNXEFDA:M500 occurred when
     there was a lock time out error on an XML lock. There
     was an error in propagating the error information,
     resulting in an abend in DSNXEFDA.
  
  4. ABEND04E RC00E70005 DSNNXML.DSNNORCN:M236 occurred when
     the XMLMODIFY function was used to update an XML column.
     There was a logic error in processing a long attribute
     value during the XMLMODIFY.
  
  5. SQLCODE904 with RESOURCE 0000090A (XML storage resource)
     was issued unexpectedly when many small XML documents
     were referenced in a SQL statement. This occurred because
     more XML storage than necessary was acquired for each
     of the referenced XML documents. For small XML documents
     less than 16K, the XML storage usage can be reduced.
  

Problem conclusion

• The XML specific problems were fixed in DB2 10 for z/OS.
