Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM WebSphere Application Server * * Property File Base Configuration (PFBC) for * * update of J2EEResource property values. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: AdminTask.applyConfigProperties * * command fails with a error message: * * 'java.lang.NumberFormatException: For * * input string: ""' * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** AdminTask.applyConfigProperties command fails with error message: 'java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: ""' or 'Error=For input string: ""'. The error occurs when updating J2EEResourceProperty objects that are of numeric type and which have an existing value attribute set to empty string. This is not a typical setting, but certain resources may be installed with "canned" empty string values for some numeric types so PFBC should tolerate those values and allow them to be updated.
Problem conclusion
Corrected code to handle re-setting numeric property values that currently have an empty string. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.19.
