When accessing application data for an application which
contains annotation metadata, processing which generates an
exception will fail to display the original exception and will
instead display a NullPointerException.

The NullPointerException occurs within an exception handler.
The failure to display the original exception and will prevent
full problem analysis.

Problem conclusion

The error handling code was updated to remove the
NullPointerException.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
