Customer is on WebSphere Application Server V6.1.0.31 and
seeing the following exceptions on their environment:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
com/ibm/icu/math/BigDecimal.toBigDecimal()Ljava/math/BigDecimal;

*                      BigDecimal.toBigDecimal()               *

The version of the ICU4J library in the WebSphere Application
Server was upgraded in 6.1.0.3 and the version distributed
with Eclipse was used. This version was built differently from
the earlier version and as a result the
BigDecimal.toBigDecimal() method was commented out. When an
application invoking this method is built using another version
of ICU4J and and then deployed on the application server, the
NoSuchMethodError will occur during execution of the
application.

Problem conclusion

The missing method has been added back into the BigDecimal
class.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.39 and 7.0.0.19.  Please refer to the
