Error description

  • When DB2 zparm DEL_CFSTRUCTS_ON_RESTART(PM28925) is set, IRLM
will attempt to delete lock structure before connecting to it
during DB2 restart. The lock structure could be deleted if there
are no active connections to it. IRLM will issue DXR185I message
if it was able to issue IXLFORCE successfully against the lock
    structure.

    ****************************************************************
There are times such as during disaster recovery when the
CF has stale information which will cause invalid data to be
present after recovery if not cleared. To enable the user
to provide a sure and rapid method for guaranteeing this is
done in known situations, a new DB2 V10 ZPARM is created.
This zparm, DEL_CFSTRUCTS_ON_RESTART, enables DB2 to tell
IRLM during startup, to force the structure and failed
    connection data.

Comments

  • This APAR provides support for DB2 APAR PM28925 to allow
deletion of IRLM lock structure when requested during a DB2
group restart event. IRLM will attempt to delete the lock
structure prior to connecting to it when the new zparm
DEL_CFSTRUCTS_ON_RESTART is specified, and DB2 uses it.
IRLM will issue IXLFORCE against the lock structure to
de-allocate the structure and force any failed-persistent
connections to the structure at that time. This will ensure that
the group allocates and connects to a new lock structure when a
group restart is desired. This IXLFORCE will be successful only
for the first member to connect to the group since it requires
no active connection be present. IRLM will issue a new
message, MSGDXR185I if the force de-allocation of the lock
    structure is successful.
DXR185I irlmnm IXLFORCE SUCCESSFUL FOR LOCK STRUCTURE LOCK1
XES also issues IXC579I for the de-allocation of the
structure against which IXLFORCE was issued.
