Error description
Abend EC3 REA=04060034 causing CR abend. WebSphere App Server v6.1.0.25 When a message size is sent by the admin that has a size over 10mb with 31bit code. NotificationServiceMBean is improperly requesting the storage from above the BAR via 64bit code. This then fails in the native code. When in 31bit we should not honor the request for anything above 10mb. . The svc dump was actually triggered as a result of ABEND DC3 Symptom Description ------- ----------- PIDS/5655N0100 Program id: 5655N0100 RIDS/BBOCF#L Load module name: BBOCF RIDS/BBOCFASY Csect name: BBOCFASY AB/S0DC3 System abend code: 0DC3 PRCS/04160015 Abend reason code: 04160015 REGS/0E046 Register/PSW difference for R0E: 046 REGS/C0DD4 Register/PSW difference for R0C:-0DD4 RIDS/BBORFRR#R Recovery routine csect name: BBORFRR . In the TCB cmp code the EC3 could be seen. . Problem conclusion
Added a check in both servant region and controller region to prevent sending an IIOP message of size larger than 10MB. APAR PM31110 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.15 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
