APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Instantiating java.naming.InitialContext with JNDI security
properties does not always set security credentials on the
    thread.

Local fix

  • The client is currently having their application clear the JNDI
cache before authentication, which is an enormous performance
    issue.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Instantiating java.naming.InitialContext with JNDI security
properties does not always set security credentials on the
thread. Specifically, if the initial context factory finds a
cached initial context, it bypasses security property
    processing.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been corrected. The initial context factory
now always processes JNDI security properties.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
