Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1.0 using multiple applications * * accessing the same JNDI name to look up a * * cache instance. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: JNDI cache look ups fail after a * * NameAlreadyBoundException occurs on a * * JNDI cache look up. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a NameAlreadyBoundException occured during a JNDI cache look up the dynacache service removes references to the cache. When an applcation performs another cache look up it fails with IllegalStateException because the references to the cache were removed.
Problem conclusion
When a NameAlreadyBoundException occurs dynacache will not destroy references to the cache and subsequent look ups will succeed. APAR PM29178 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.39 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
