Error description

  • Upon an authentication failure, currently WebSphere prints
    the SECJ0055E message. This message does not report whether
    authentication failed due to bad userid / password, or for
    another reason such as the userid not having READ access to the
    appropriate profile in the APPL class.

    WebSphere Application Server was not properly interpreting the
    output from the Secure Authorization Facility (SAF) and was
    not able to distinguish between types of errors.
    

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere Application Server has been modified to correctly
    interpret the output from the SAF call.
    
    APAR PM29117 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.37 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1.
