Error description

The JavaServer Paages (JSP) files defined under welcome files
listed as extended document root do not work.

If a request specifies a partial URL, by default the request is
forwarded to a defined welcome file. However, if the welcome
file exists in an extended document root, a blank page is
returned.

If a request specifies a partial URL, by default the request
is forwarded to a defined welcome file. However, if the
welcome file exists in an extended document root, a blank page
is returned.

Problem conclusion

The WebContainer has been modified to forward a partial URL
request to a welcome file in an extended document root.
However, to enable this behavior a WebContainer custom
property must be set:

com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.EnablePartialURLtoExtendedDocumentRoot=t
rue (default:false).

Note: This problem is already fixed for Microsoft Windows
operating systems with PM17845 which is part of fix pack
7.0.0.15.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.17.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
