APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • User attempts to view DB2 object that contains large CLOBs. On
    Table View Panel the first rows are displayed with message:
    
       LARGE TABLE MODE - INITIAL FETCH OF 44 ROWS.
    
    User the enters a FIND command for data not on displayed rows,
    at which user receives ABEND S0C4 message.
    
    The Find Command is: f db2
    
    This string does not occur in the first screen of records.
    The Find POP-UP does not appear, just a pause then the abend
    message.
    
    If a find command is issued for a string that exists in the
    records displayed, then it is found.  If the find is repeated
    until the string does not appear in current screen, then the
    "Out of Storage" POP-UP appears.

    The problem occurs because of a short-of-storage condition
    during scrolling.  In the problem scenario each row of the table
    requires approx 1M of editor storage.
    

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager DB2 component has been updated to correct the
    problem.
