PM27057: HEX PRIMARY COMMAND NOT WORKING AS EXPECTED IN FM/DB2

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While in View or Edit in FM/DB2, entering the HEX primary key
  does not change the display from character to hex format.  An
  error message prompting for the ON or OFF keyword should be
  displayed.
  

Local fix

• Enter HEX ON or HEX OFF.

  The documentation indicates that the 'HEX' editor primary
  command requires a single parameter (ON|OFF).  Therefore 'HEX'
  without parameters should be dis-allowed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The File Manager editor has been changed to support 'HEX' being
  issued without parameters - the effect is to reverse the current
  HEX-display status.
