PM26913: THE OUTRDW=YES PARAMTER WITH THE RECFM=VB PARM ON THE DD STMT DOES NOT WORK AS EXPECTED.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• There is a problem with the OUTRDW=YES paramter when the
  RECFM=VB parameter is not on the DD staement of the output file.
  
  Note that the output file does inherit the VB attribute OK , but
  the inheritance of the the RECFM code has a problem when used
  with the OUTRDW parameter.
  

Local fix

• Ensure the output DD statement includes a RECFM=VB parmater.

  File Manager is not detecting the output file as being variable
  when DFSORT is performing the I/O to the output file.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager has been changed to detect the output file
  attributes when OUTRDW keyword has been specified and DFSORT
  is being used to perform the copy.
