  • When the IPV profile dataset does not exist, and is allocated
via the FM server (FMNCAS), it is allocated as a PDS instead of
a PDSE.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a new IPV Profile data set         *
*                      (IPVPROF) is allocated via the FM       *
*                      server (FMNCAS), a PDS is allocated     *
*                      instead of the intended PDSE.           *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
File Manager dynamic allocation routine is specifying directory
blocks on the allocation request. In some SMS environments this
will cause a PDS to be allocated instead of a PDSE.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • File Manager has been changed to allocate a PDSE for IPVPROF
when SMS is active and a PDS if SMS is not active.
