Error description

  • After applying ptf UK58554 / PM14523, customer's application
    which has been working correctly with from address of '0'
    when the lenght is also '0'; now receives abend AEYF.
    Customer points out length  and address of 0 are valid in
    their environment for the PUT CONTAINER command.

    The command EXEC CICS PUT CONTAINER command specifying a FROM
    value of zero and an FLENGTH value of zero fails with AEYF after
    UK58554 is applied.

Problem conclusion

  • UK58554
    Module DFHEIBAM is altered within procedure
    check_container_storage_proc so that the test introduced by
    UK58554 now includes an extra test for the presence of a zero
    FLENGTH parameter.
