APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The customer has two sets of the same URI's mapped to two
    different VirtualHostGroups within a single XML. During it's
    processing, the tool loses track of the VHostGroup names and
    ultimately merges the two VHosts together.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Two independent Cell plugins don't *
    * merge correctly if each cell contains *
    *                      duplicate URI sets.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If within a single Cell's plugin there are two identical URI
    groups that are designated to two different VirtualHostGroups,
    the resulting VirtualHostGroup is incorrectly merged together.

Problem conclusion

  • Two new parameters have been added to the Plugin Merge tool.

    -sortVhostGrp : this adds VirtualHostGroup Names as part of
    the sorting key when merging the XMLs.
    -debug : this will output the progress of the merge processing

    Example:  <WAS_HOME>/bin/pluginMerge.[sh|.bat] -sortVhostGrp
    -debug plugin-cfg1.xml plugin-cfg2.xml [...] plugin-cfg.xml
